Here is what I do to define one person from another when they have the same name, which happens a lot in Italian families.

I put the initials of the parents’ given names after the entry’s given name. Eg Tommaso G/R Mezzanares (Tommaso son of Giuseppe and Rosalia)

It does a little to help in finding the Tommaso Mezzanares you may be looking for. It is also common in Italian families to name a child the same name as an older sibling that died, I add the number if that helps. Eg Tommaso G/R 2 ( the second son named Tommaso in that particular family.
